Universal Design for Learning (UDL) asks us to design courses with flexibility built in from the start, rather than retrofitting access after the fact. The good news: you don't need a big budget or a steep learning curve to start. Many of the most effective UDL tools are free, browser-based, and work directly inside Canvas or alongside the documents and slides you already use.
This toolbox is organized around the three UDL principles of Engagement, Representation, and Action & Expression so you can find a tool that matches the barrier you're trying to remove, whether that's offering students more than one way to engage in content, or more than one way to demonstrate what they've learned.
